MOVIE : "INSIDE MAN"

Team America: World Police (2004) Poster

Okay, you saw the rating... Great film ! This bank heist movie is smart and has excellent dialogue. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Denzel Washington plays the good guy, the cop wonderfully.... as he usually does. The interesting thing is to see Clive Owen as the bank robber and Jodie Foster in a great supporting role playing a tough and powerful woman. Don't miss it !

MOVIE : "FAILURE TO LAUNCH"

Team America: World Police (2004) Poster

I'm not a big fan of Matthew McConaughey or Sarah Jessica Parker... I also thought, as soon as I saw the trailer for this film, that the concept was ridiculous. What is her job really ? To pretend to be a bunch of guys girlfriend... like what ? an escort ! The movie was completely ridiculous most of the time, especially with all the silly (and very unfunny) animal jokes. I also don't find Sarah Jessica Parker very attractive at all... Overall, nothing great !

MOVIE : "RUNNING SCARED"

@@@1/2

Team America: World Police (2004) Poster

Paul Walker is usually known for his good looks and his bad acting. His last two movies "Into the Blue" and "Eight Below", I hadn't much interest for... but in this film, he's actually not bad. This film is edgy, it's dark, it's very very violent but somehow, it just works. I really enjoyed it! The film is kind of depressing but kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, too bad this film did not do better at the Box Office, hopefully it will when it is released on DVD.

MOVIE : "THE HILLS HAVE EYES"

Team America: World Police (2004) Poster

There seems to be a new horror movie every second week or so and these movies seem to getting worse. After watching "Wolf Creek" and "Hostel" earlier this year... I thought, it can't get worse than this. In my opinion, "The Hills Have Eyes" had a really good trailer... but somehow, it turned out to be complete "crap". The movie is longer than the other 2, the acting is bad, there's almost no dialogue, you just don't care for any of these characters and if you watch it (you should NOT!), you'll want them dead as quick as possible so that this horrible movie can end.

MOVIE : "V FOR VENDETTA"

Team America: World Police (2004) Poster

I had been looking forward to this movie for quite a while, my expectations were very high and I'm happy to report :) that I was not disapointed in any way. I wouldn't say that this movie is as good as the 1st "Matrix" film but it's definitely the best movie I've seen so far this year. The screenplay is excellent and so is Natalie Portman. Visually, the film is also very very interesting. The whole film / concept just works perfectly. Go see it !

CD : "SHE WANTS REVENGE"

Their first single from this record, "Tear You Apart" got them a lot of attention. One more band really influenced by 80's music (after bands like The Killers and The Bravery). The best way to describe "She Wants Revenge" would be to say that their music sounds like Depeche Mode mixed with the Interpol singer's voice. The lyrics are often silly but it's still a pretty fun CD even if it's not too original.

MOVIE : "DAVE CHAPPELLE'S BLOCK PARTY"

I only knew Dave Chappelle a little.... had never seen his show on Comedy Central, but one thing's for sure, he's hilarious! This documentary split with humor and R&B/Hip-Hop music is different, light and fun. The movie features music by Kanye West, Common, The Fugees, etc. Makes me want to see more from Chappelle.

MOVIE : "CAPOTE"

Team America: World Police (2004) Poster

I finally got to see ''Capote'' right before the Oscars. Unfortunately, I wasn't really touched by this movie. I really like Catherine Keener, but her role in this film is very minor. Philip Seymour Hoffman, who I don't usually like, does give a great performance. Overall, I don't think it deserved a Best Picture nomination.

MOVIE : "16 BLOCKS"

@@@

Team America: World Police (2004) Poster

In this film, Bruce Willis plays a alcoholic cop who must transport a witness to the courthouse. Only 16 Blocks... The movie happens in real time and sometimes reminded me of TV's "24" or the Johnny Depp movie "Nick of Time" (release about 10 years ago). Mos Def plays the very very talkative witness and does a very good job. Pretty good movie overall, but I prefered Willis' last movie "Hostage".

MOVIE : "FINAL DESTINATION 3"

@@

Team America: World Police (2004) Poster

The first Final Destination film was fun and it had an interesting concept. The second one wasn't great and this one is even worse. This time around, it all starts in a roller-coaster. What's next ? A Hot-Air Balloon ? I'm a little tired of those flashes of things that the people in the film see but never really occur. Especially when they're really long. In the 3rd film, the deaths are very gory and bloody, more so than for the 1st two films. Some of the actors in this film are also completely horrible. Not great at all !
