CD : "BILLY TALENT - II"

The Toronto band is back with a new record following their 2003 self-titled debut. "II" is a good cd but unfortunately does not really bring anything new to the table. The first single "Devil in a Midnight Mass" is a catchy first single but is not that great if you compare it to great songs from the first record. Billy Talent have an original sound but hopefully they'll try to come up with something a little different next time around...

CD : "MADONNA - I'm Going To Tell You A Secret"

If you're a big Madonna fan, you'll need this CD/DVD in your collection. The DVD is a 2 hour plus documentary following the star during her last world tour for the "American Life" cd. You'll see parts of the show and behind the scenes stuff much like her "Truth or Dare" documentary released in the early 90s after her "Blond Ambition Tour". The CD is her first live CD ever and inlcudes 13 live songs and a demo version of "I love New York" featured on her "Confessions on a Dance Floor" cd. All of this stuff makes you want to go back and see her live in concert again!

CD : "NELLY FURTADO - Loose"

Nelly Furtado is back, looking better than ever, with a third studio album. I, personally, was a big fan of the first two cds, especially the 2nd one, which unfortunately did not do too well. Her first single in America, "Promiscuous" is one of this year's biggest singles. This is a great record but it's not usually the type of music I'm into. Her hit single in the UK "Maneater" should be the 2nd single here. Many catchy songs and a few good slow songs including "All Good Things (Come To An End)".

CD : "KEANE - Under The Iron Sea"

I must admit that after the first listen, I was a little bit bored by Keane's new CD "Under The Iron Sea". I was a big fan of their first record "Hopes and Fears". The "piano-pop" band is back with a CD that could be considered a little bit edgier. The first few tracks on the record are very good and include the catchy single "Is It Any Wonder". The rest of the CD is not very exciting, I'll have to listen to it some more to see if it grows on me or not.

MOVIE "THE DA VINCI CODE"

Most people have been saying that if you haven't read the book, the movie will be hard to follow and that if you've read it, you'll be disapointed. I read the book and for the first part of the film, it was very faithful to the Dan Brown book. Unfortunately, because they had to cut parts of the book to make this movie under three hours, the last part of the film is completely different. Also, I found that Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou were really cold and seemed to have no chemistry whatsoever. I'm still glad I saw the film and I must say that Paul Bettany (Silas) and Ian McKellen (Teabing) did a great job.

MOVIE : "THE OMEN"

"The Omen" is said to be an exact copy of the 1976 movie, which I haven't seen. In this one, the parents are played by Julia Stiles and Liev Schreiber. The film could have been better but still includes a few scary scenes that might make some of you jump. I must say that a few death scenes were cheezy and reminded me of the "Final Destination" movies. The marketing campaign (6.6.06) was smart and this film is definitely better than most "crap" horror films released this year so far.

CD : "SAM ROBERTS - Chemical City"

Coming off his phenomenal CD debut "We Were Born In A Flame" released 3 years ago, Sam Roberts is back with "Chemical City", a worthy follow-up. This new CD from Roberts is very different from the first and takes a few listens before making yourself an opinion of this "folkish"-rock record. The first few tracks on the record are awesome and include my favorites "Bridge to Nowhere" and "With A Bullet".

MOVIE : "OVER THE HEDGE"

First off, I had a lot more interest in watching this movie than "Cars". If you liked "Madagascar" and "A Shark's Tale", you should enjoy this film as well. The animation is pretty great, lots of famous voices (including Bruce Willis). The movie is cute, short and very funny, as it should be.

MOVIE : "THE BREAK-UP"

The movie is not great, it's okay... not worth your 10 bucks... wait for the rental. First off, Jennifer looks better than ever (way too good for Vaughn). The movie starts off as kind of funny... but eventually their constant fighting becomes ugly and makes you feel akward and uncomfortable. The movie is not very funny and the more they fight, the more it actually becomes sad. Also, most of the supporting characters in this movie are complete weirdos and nutcases. Slightly entertaining but don't rush to go see it.
